Better late than never, here is this week's call for recs! Maria Rambeau is our character of the week. <3

Here is your chance to comment with recs for either of the following:

1. Works focused on Thor! Art, fic, vids, whatever you've got that you liked.

2. New works you've discovered in the past month that you haven't recced here before, whether they feature Thor or not. Read a new GotG fic you loved? Want to rec an older vid about the cosmic MCU that you just saw for the first time? Here's the place. :D

Some urban photos from last year's trip to Chicago.

Do you ever shoot in black & white (or desaturate in post-processing)? What kind of photo/subject/mood/artistic spirit moves you to decide whether an image should be in b&w or in color?

Challenge 012:

Everyone has them: days when nothing goes according to plan, where commitments fall through, where people are just awful. Whatever the reason, bad days plague even the brightest of attitudes from time to time, and it's often a test of character to see how others handle it.

Write a story where someone has a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and how they choose to deal with it.

BONUS GOAL: "I needed that!"

If your submission contains this line of dialogue, that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!

Challenge ends Monday, April 22 at 9:00PM EST
• Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile
• Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 012 - bad day

Title: Who we would be (you used to know)
Artist: [personal profile] goss
Rating: G
Fandom: Guardian
Characters: Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan
Content Notes: Created for Challenge #24: Poetry Illustration. This was directly inspired by [personal profile] china_shop's excellent Guardian fan-poetry things you used to know. This piece was painted with a combination of watercolours and acrylics.

Sketching out these characters' facial feature right was a real challenge, especially the eyes and mouth, and then overlaying it with the watercolour after felt like walking a tightrope act. :b To get the galaxy effect, I found a whole bunch of useful tutorials on YouTube on how to go about painting one with watercolours. I tried my hand at it and am satisfied with the overall effect. :)

FILL: Another Wonderful Idea, Part One

‘Jeeves,’ I moaned, ‘there's someone in the bushes.’
‘Mister Little and Lord Chuffnell, if I am not mistaken, sir.’
‘Good lord!’ I cried, although the exclamation had more to do with the way Jeeves was coming and going between my thighs than with this newly acquired knowledge. ‘And should we… let them… watch?’
‘Yes,’ he whispered into my ear, ‘let them know that… you are mine…’

List your photography apps!

- What do you do with them?

- Why do you like them?

- Recommendations for particular features and functions?

- Link us to your favorite photos you took on your phone!

I currently have an iPhone 6s - honestly, smartphone cameras are so good these days that I don't ever carry my DSLR around for daily stuff anymore, and rarely even for travel.

Favorite ever phone photo:

Hard to pick, but I’ll go with this shot taken on a walk around my neighborhood. The flag that unfurled at just the right moment, perfectly backlit by the sunset, the stark blackness of the bare trees contrasting with the green grass, even the artfully placed lens flare. It really was serendipity. Taken on the iPhone, edited very lightly in VSCO.
